Basic information

In angular contact ball bearing the raceways are arranged such that forces are transmitted at a particular contact angle, the axial load carrying capacity increases with the contact angle. Angular contact ball bearings are available in single row and double row option.
Single row angular contact ball bearings can accomodate radial and thrust loads. They accomodate thrust loads in only one direction; they are adjusted against another bearing which accomodates the opposite thrust load. Angular contact ball bearings are non-separable. They are suitable for high speeds. Their self-aligning capability is very limited. Double row angular ball bearings are similar in design to a pair of single row angular contact ball bearings, but double row bearings can support high radial forces as well as axial forces in both directions and are particulary suitable for a rigid axial guidance arrangements. Depending on series, the bearings are designed with or without filling slots.
