Thrust ball bearings (thrust ball bearings) are available in unidirectional and bidirectional versions. These bearings take on large axial forces, while they can not be radically loaded.

They consist of one inner ring that is mounted on the shaft and one outer ring that is mounted in a holder with a ball cage. The thrust ball bearings of this design can only carry axial loads in one direction while the radial loads are unacceptable.

They consist of one inner ring that is mounted on the shaft, two outer rings mounted in the bezel (flat or spherical seating surface) and two ball baskets.

The thrust ball bearings of this design can carry axial loads in both directions, while radial loads are unacceptable.

Apart from the design in which the outer ring has a flat stop face, there are also thrust ball bearings with spherical outer rings and ball washers.

Thrust bearings with flat outer rings do not compensate for any misalignment (misalignment) of the shaft relative to the housing.

Ball bearings with a spherical bearing surface are suitable for co-operation with suitable concave washers to compensate for misalignment or tilt of the shaft relative to the housing. The bearing surfaces of the bearing rings must be parallel. Angular deviations can be aligned with ballscrews.

In the case of thrust ball bearings, the bearings are removable, allowing the inner and outer ring to be mounted independently. Thrust ball bearings are manufactured in normal accuracy class.
