Basic information
Slewing bearings are the rolling bearings with an internal diameter of over 0.3 m.
These bearings are characterized by the shape of the bearing ring, allowing it to be fixed directly to the machine body (one rotary, the other permanent).
Construction:
The design of the ring bearings consists of two or three rings between which the rolling elements are located. Depending on the type of application, temperature, and ambient conditions in which the bearing will work, corrugated bearings are manufactured from various steel grades. Mostly they are made of 42CrMo4 steel.
Between the rings there are special seals with different cross sections that limit the ingress of impurities into the bearing.
The tread of each coronary bearing is made of induction hardened steel. followed by rolling elements in the form of balls or rollers.
Bearings due to the requirement of regular lubrication are equipped with grease guns placed in the rings.
Selection:
Corrugated bearings are characterized by low rotational speed and are chosen for static loads.
Attention is drawn to the axial force and the subtraction moment which define the bearing operating point.
Curves that limit the range of work - result from the maximum bearing capacity and the bearing capacity of the screw connection.
Reduced axial force - sum of all axial and radial forces acting on the bearing increased by safety factor (dependent on application conditions).
Reduction of the tipping moment - the sum of all the moles acting on the bearing increased by the safety factor.
