Basic information Nilos rings are popular metallic seals for bearings. They are ideal solution for extreme working conditions and can be used in any existing structure due to its low overall height.They provide considerable increase in service life.

SEALING EFFECT
Sealing is produced by placing the sealing edge of the NILOS-Ring under light pressure at the inner or outer roller bearing ring and so that it rubs to a greater or lesser depth into the hardened roller bearing ring. The fine labyrinth that is produced as a result prevents both the leaking of grease and also the penetration of dirt into the bearing.

APPLICATION
Due to the sealing construction described above and small space requirements seals can be applied in variuos situations. Depending on their size thay are made of mettalic plate of 0,3 to 0,7 mm thick. The total thickness of the ring varies from 2 to 8 mm. Small sizes enable the rings to be applied even in the devices in which the sealing was not previously calculated. The rings work along with all types of bearings, the only one exeption being the self-aligning bearing. There are also special ring types - LSTO - with labyrith protection and compact construction. They can be used in very hard, heavy duty applications.

A type Used for Seeger ring protection and proper alignment. AK type A double externally-sealing ring. AKS type Special labyrinth sealing type with grease filling between two sealing elements. AV type One of the most popular rings for the common ball bearings. AV for tapered roller bearing Nilos ring applied for tapered roller bearing. J type Distance rings type used for Seeger ring protection and proper alignment. JKS type Application and conditions of the ring the same as for AKS types. JV type Ring type recommended wherever the construction of the bearing enables the application, due to better friction parameters. JV type for tapered roller bearings LSTO type Non-contact labyrith ring filled with grease. Only 4mm thick, helps to simplify the bearing construction. ZAV type Type of rings used for sealed or shield bearings RS or Z type, can be used in hard conditions, dust or humidity. ZJV type The application is similar to Nilos ZAV. Operation and mounting the same as in JV type.
